I am writing you on behalf of the Dixon District Chamber of Commerce, May Fair Parade Committee. Each year, the Chamber organizes and sponsors the annual May Fair Parade held as an adjunct to the Dixon May Fair. The parade committee generates its own funds from local and corporate sponsors.
The 132nd Annual Dixon May Fair Parade will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007. The theme chosen for the 2007 parade is "The Barnyard Dance". The May Fair Parade is the oldest parade in the state of California. Each year approximately 20,000 spectators line the streets of Downtown Dixon to view marching bands, floats, antique automobiles, equestrian units, drill teams, antique farm equipment as well as a host of other entries. Unique to our parade is helium filled balloons, similar to those seen in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As you can see, the Dixon May Fair Parade is packed full of hometown fun!
